Difficult rebirth. Biloxi resident Brian Brazil helps with the construction of a home
in Long Beach, Miss after Katrina leveled most of the coastal town. At least 65,000 homes along the
Miss Gulf Coast were destroyed at the time of Katrina's landfall, countless more were left uninhabitable. Due to a multitude
of factors the process of rebuilding for many coast residents was overwhelming, but despite a litany of problems,
the Miss Gulf Coast did, and continues to make a great deal of progress in many ways. This was much to do
with the resilience of the people of South Mississippi and the generous support from counteless volunteers
